A Bit of Information...

As a lifelong animal advocate and lover, I have dedicated my time to maintaining the well-being of animals, particularly companion animals, and helping to promote the need to ADOPT and not SHOP.

I became involved in volunteering in 2004 when I was instructed to select an organization to volunteer for while I was taking a law class as an undergraduate at Cal Poly Pomona.  After doing research I came across "Save the Tigers," an effort that was guided by Chuck Traisi and The Fund for Animals to save tigers and other big cats that were kept in inhumane conditions at a defunct facility in Colton, CA. I volunteered there for two years helping to clean cages, feed the cats, and maintain the facility.  In 2006 the cats were transported to PAWS (Performing Animal Welfare Society) in Galt, CA.

Shortly after my time with "Save the Tigers," I began volunteering as an online volunteer with "2nd Chance 4 Pets," an amazing organization that helps pet guardians find ways to make sure their pets are going to be taken care of when they are no longer able to; among other many noble duties.  I primarily worked on "The Campaign for Bella" as an online promoter and writer and I helped the organization find ways to raise money.  Bella is paralyzed in her back legs and gets around with the use of a wheelchair, something that we all had to work hard to find for her!  In 2011 I had the chance to meet Bella in person at the OC Family Pet Expo as she was a special guest with "Healing Heart Sanctuary," the group who had been fostering her and where she lives to this day.  It was a beautiful day and I will always remember getting to meet Bella and seeing how far she had come and how happy she was.

2011 also brought about a time in my life when I became lucky enough to start volunteer work with Best Friends Animal Society-Los Angeles.  BFLA (as they have been deemed) has been in southern California since 1991 and I have been a supporter of their organization as a whole since as far back as I can remember.  I got my first checking account when I was eighteen and one of the first checks I had written was one to Best Friends Animal Society as a donation.  :)  To this day I (along with my husband on many occasions) volunteer at all special events such as Super Adoption, Strut Your Mutt, and Neighborhood Pit Bull Day.  I also volunteer at pop-up adoption events which are a lot of fun!  I do other assorted yet equally as important jobs at home for them from time to time.  I am kept on my toes that is for sure but I will never ever stop helping Best Friends Animal Society, in fact has has been my dream to work for them in the future and is something that I am hoping will come true very soon. :)
